Looking for a cheap limo or airport car service in Boston, MA? Beware!
In the recent months I heard plenty of negative feedback about some of the local and small limousine and town car service companies in Boston, MA from our clients. When I asked several of them: "How did you find them and based on what criteria?" Almost all of them responded the following: ":Low price quotes!?"
I personally always skeptical when traveling myself with my family about companies who provide services, especially car service companies. In order to be a legit company and provide a good service below is just a short list of items a company has to carry:
1) Liability insurance for 1 million dollars
2) Vehicles not older than 3 years.
3) Well trained and proffesional drivers (in order to get people like that now days, you have to pay them well and retain the talent).
4) Dedicated customer service reps.
If you sum all of the above, you can see that in order to be a legit and customer facing company you can not provide a cheap service and if you do, there is something lacking; either older vehicle not well maintained, un-professional drivers or lack of the proper insurance, so please thing twice when it comes to hiring a car or limo service, after all it is your safety we are talking about here.

As summer is approaching and brings us lots of Sun it also brings a Wedding Season!
For a limousine companies in Boston, this is probably the busiest season of the year. So how do you choose your limousine service provider for one of the most important occasions in life?
1) First and formost- check their reputation online. Read what others have to say about their experience. Visit sites such as CitySearch, Yelp, Google, Yahoo.
2) Do NOT choose your limo company based on price. You do not want to be screwed on that day, there is no alternative to just take a "Taxi". If you would like a Great limo service, most likely you will have to pay for it. After all, you get what you pay for. It is impossible for a company to provide you with A+ service for a cheap price.

SUV or Luxury Sedan
Last several month we had people calling in to place a reservation for 2 passengers and requesting an SUV and pay much higher price. We would like to remind our customers that SUV prices are higher than luxury sedans (cars like Lincoln Town car, Cadillac Deville).
If you do not have many piecies of luggage and travel only in party of 2, we strongly suggest to go with executive sedan rather than an SUV. You will save at least 20%. Companies will charge more for SUVs, because of the highter insurance rate and obviously gas consumption. Have a safe trip!

Hidden fees from Limo and/or car service company?We hear a lot of complains from customer about their experience in the past with other companies, where there would get a surprising amount at the end of the service, higher from their original quote. We will try to explain on what to expect and how to get an accurate quote from the limo company.
1) In most cases you will be told that your basic rate will be x amount of dollars. The key in that sentence in word "basic" rate. What limo companies mean, is that you will start from number x, and they will at least add the following charges: Taxes, Gratuity, Environment protection fee, gas fee, toll fees.
2) Always ask if you will be charged for stops on your way, for example if you will need to stop by 7Eleven which is on your way to buy a newspaper.
3) If you are getting "to good to be true" price, double check, there is got to be a catch. You get what you pay for. Ask questions about the car, fees, liability and insurance.
Always ask for GRAND TOTAL and ask whether that will include all the fees.
Keep in mind, automobile is one of the dangerous method of transportation. You should be carefull when selecting your next car service company.

Difference in price
How come car service and limo service prices at times are dramatically different among companies.
Good analogy to use in this case would be "food calories". What does food calories and car service have in common one might ask. Here is our explanation. If you were to purchase 1,000 calories for your lunch, you would be presented with several options, for example:
Purchase 2 double-cheeseburger from MC and it will get you 1K calories for $2 plus tax :)
At the same time 1,000 calories in places such as Panera Bread can cost anywhere from 8-10 dollars. Idea is simple, better quality calories you purchase, more you have to pay. Same can be applied to car and limo service in Boston and most other major cities in US. If quality of service is important, if you are looking for safe and reliable car service company with good reputation, chances are the price will be a bit higher. Sometimes it makes sense to pay 5-10 dollars more and enjoy your service. After all it is your safety and reputation!
